| Noriko's recent work has seen her perform with orchestras across Europe, the USA and in Japan, amongst the highlights of which have been her debut with the Minnesota Orchestra Symphony under Osmo Vänskä performing Prokofiev's 3rd concerto, a programme of Gershwin and Debussy with Odense Symphony Orchestra and concerts with the Tokyo Symphony and the Sapporo Symphony. Noriko has just returned from an extremely successful chamber tour in Japan with Evelyn Glennie which saw the premier of an exciting new work for piano (4 hands) and percussion, commissioned by Noriko from Yoshihiro Kanno.
Noriko will be performing Beethoven’s 1st Piano Concerto over the next few months with various orchestras including a return to the Welsh Proms with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. Noriko will also be reprising Ravel in G with Orchestra National de Lille and Kymi Sinfonietta.
Upcoming projects for 2007 and beyond include the greatly anticipated recording of the next CD in Noriko’s Debussy Series on BIS Records (the fourth in the acclaimed series) and adjudication of several competitions including the first Manchester International Piano Competition, the 2007 Scottish International Piano Competition and a new competition being promoted by Yamaha and Pianist Magazine.
In February 2009 Noriko will premier a newly commissioned concerto by upcoming Japanese composer Dai Fujikura in a performance with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Martyn Brabbins. This performance will be the climax to an exciting project that has seen Noriko work closely with Fujikura. In preparation for the completed concerto, Fujikura composed a short piano piece for Noriko entitled Returning which was given its premier by Noriko in last year's City of London Festival.
